USA a leading destination among Brazilian travelers a month after borders reopen

Recently, here on the blog, we looked at the significant rise in visa applications for the United States. The desire to head to the land of Uncle Sam is also reflected in a survey that reveals the US as one of the preferred destinations among Brazilians a month after borders were officially reopened.

Last November was a milestone in relaxing some of the restrictions on travel abroad. The USA permitted the entry of Brazilians as from November 8, due to the new phase of the Covid-19 pandemic. According to a study by the Brazilian Association of Tourism Operators, it is already clear that the USA is among the top destinations chosen by Brazilians since then.

Tourism experts have pinpointed the proximity of festive dates including Christmas, New Year and the annual carnival as responsible for favorably bolstering numbers in the country, despite the high cost of the dollar. New York, Miami and Orlando remain the most sought-after destinations.

However, it’s not enough to merely save up if you want to visit the US; there is also a series of requirements to fulfill. With regards to Covid-19, travelers 18 years and older must provide proof of complete vaccination and a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours prior to boarding.

Furthermore, an entry visa is required for the country. Since the borders have reopened, the waiting line has reached such a vast number that some people have only secured appointments for the end of 2022. There is a chance of places opening at the last minute, however. As such, the US embassy recommends keeping an eye on its website: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/pt-br/niv.
